Job Details:

Responsibilities:

The role involves general cleaning duties and related functions, reporting to the Head of Department (HOD) – Campus Cleaning. Key responsibilities include:

• Cleaning premises according to schedule and standards.
• Emptying and cleaning bins regularly.
• Maintenance of a clean and hygienic environment including kitchens, fridges, and staff dining areas.
• Vacuuming and washing floors, cleaning walls, and staircases.
• Ensuring cleanliness of kitchen, toilet, and bathroom fixtures and restocking consumables.
• Tidying and cleaning areas after meetings or events.
• Spot cleaning spillages and maintaining stock control of cleaning materials.
• Reporting maintenance or occupational health and safety issues.
• Ensuring compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies.
• Foster a positive work environment, teamwork, and institutional culture.

Requirements:

• Grade 10/Standard 8; Grade 12 qualification advantageous.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a Cleaner in a similar environment.
• Knowledge and experience with cleaning equipment, chemicals, and safety regulations.

Competencies:

• Knowledge of cleaning best practices.
• Punctuality, reliability, time management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Client service orientation, ability to work independently or in a team.
• Reading skills for following instructions, computer literacy.
• Attention to detail, fitness, personal hygiene, honesty, and adherence to timelines.
