World Food Programme (WFP) in South Africa invites unemployed graduates to apply Graduate Internship Programme 2021.

Internship Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng

We are currently seeking motivated and qualified candidates to fill positions of the 2021 Policy and Programme Department (PD) Internship Programme.  

The position will be based in our Programme Unit of the Regional Bureau for Southern Africa (RBJ), based in Johannesburg, South Africa. The internship will be typically for the period of at least 3 months during June to August/September 2021. The internship can be pursued in person or remotely, depending on the pandemic situation and the international travel restrictions in place. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate school (attended classes in the past 12 months)
  • or a recent graduate from a graduate school (within six months prior to the application).

  • Urban Studies and Planning,
  • Social Sciences
  • or other related fields.

PD Intern – Monitoring

Preferred areas of study are:

  • Social science,
  • Mathematics,
  • Demography,
  • Geography,
  • Statistics,
  • or other related fields.

PD Intern – Digitisation in the Southern Africa region

Preferred areas of study are:

  • Humanitarian or Development Assistance,
  • Programming,
  • Economics,
  • Law,
  • Social Sciences
  • or other related fields.

Competencies:

  • A strong analytical skill, synthesis capacity, excellent writing, and communication skills as well as the capacity to work with a diverse team will make a successful candidate.
  • Proactivity and creativity
  • Openness to innovation and learning
  • Enthusiasm for humanitarian and development causes
  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent command of English;
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook)
