WIPHOLD: Bursaries 2025
WIPHOLD invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2025 academic year.
Bursary Application Closing Date: 30 November 2024.
WIPHOLD is offering bursaries for the 2025 academic year in the following fields of study:
- Actuarial Science
- Agriculture
- BCom Accounting/ Chartered Accounting
- Engineering
The bursary will cover tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation, and provide a monthly stipend. The amount awarded will depend on the availability of funds, and the bursary is renewable each year, contingent upon academic performance and diligence.
Eligibility Criteria:
To apply, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen
- Currently in Matric or have completed Matric
- Plan to study towards a qualification in one of the specified fields
- Aspiring to become a Chartered Accountant, Actuary, Engineer, or Agriculturist
- Achieve at least 70% for Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and 70% for English in Matric
- Achieve an overall “A” or “B” average (a “C” average may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
- Have applied to at least 2 universities (one of which must be closest to your home)
Selection Process:
- Provisional acceptance based on Grade 11 final results by 30 November 2024.
- Final selection will occur in January 2025, after Matric results are released.
- Successful recipients will be required to sign an agreement with the WIPHOLD Bursary Fund.

Submit the completed application form along with the following supporting documents:
- Certified copy of your ID document
- Recent passport-sized photograph
- Certified copy of Grade 11 final results (if currently in Matric)
- Certified copy of Matric certificate or final results (if Matric is completed)
- Certified copies of parents’, guardian’s, or spouse’s proof of income (latest payslips, affidavit if unemployed, proof of pension or SASSA grant if applicable)
- Testimonials, certificates, or any supporting documents (certified)
- A short essay on yourself, your family, and your career future plans
- Brief handwritten answers to the following questions:
- Why would you like to become a Chartered Accountant, Actuary, Engineer, or Agriculturist?
- What special talents do you think are required to succeed in these professions?
- Why do you believe you will succeed in your chosen profession?
