Wild Impact invites unemployed graduates to apply for Internship Programme 2024 / 2025.

Internship Location: Sandton, Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa

Internship Closing Date: 20 September 2024

Duration: 12 months (01 October 2024 – 31 August 2025)

Wild Impact’s mission is to empower people living within protected areas in Africa by building partnerships between conservation initiatives and local communities. The organization is committed to sustainable development, focusing on education, healthcare, conservation, small business development, and youth empowerment.

Internship Overview:
Wild Impact, in collaboration with andBeyond, Yes4Youth, and Nedbank, offers a 12-month Data Insights Internship for unemployed youth. This opportunity provides real-world experience and professional development in data management and analytics within the context of conservation and community projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect and manage data from conservation and community initiatives.
• Organize datasets using database management tools.
• Perform data cleaning, validation, and verification.
• Assist in data analysis to uncover trends and insights.
• Create data visualizations and reports for stakeholders.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity in collaboration with project managers.
• Provide data support for decision-making processes.

Requirements:

• Education:
  • Matric certificate.
  • Recently completed a qualification (Honours) in Data Science, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with data management tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI) is an advantage.
• Other Requirements:
  • South African citizen, aged 18-27 by 30 August 2024.
  • Unemployed as of 29 August 2024.
  • Police clearance and COVID-19 vaccination certificate required.
  • Not a previous YES4Youth placement.

Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in data management tools.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions:

• Office-based role in Sandton.
• Standard working hours, contract position.
• Business-related resources provided (cell phone and laptop).
