Zandile Msutwana, (born 06 July 1979 in King William’s Town, Eastern Cape, South African), actress best known for playing the role of Vuyiswa on Mzansi Magic soapie drama The Queen.
Zandile Msutwana was born on 06 July 1979 in King William’s Town, Eastern Cape, South Africa.
Zandile Msutwana completed a Performers Diploma in Speech and Drama at the University of Cape Town (UCT).
Zandile Msutwana’’s parents, brothers / sisters, boyfriend / hsuband and children are not yet known.
Zandile Msutwana is a also best known for her leading role as Akua Yenana on the SABC1 drama series Society, from 2007-2010.
Whilst at university her roles in productions included Regan in King Lear, Matilda in The Suit, Aida in On The Brink and Chorus in Trojan Women.
After graduating Zandile performed in a production entitled Ingalo at The Langa Hall and took the part of Cordelia in a schools’ tour of King Lear.
This was followed by various roles in Madiba Magic at the Baxter Theatre, Cape Town, the role of Thando Sibanda in Nguni, A Love Story at The Kalk Bay Theatre and a puppeteer in the innovative presentation of Tall Horse directed by Marthinus Basson at The Baxter Theatre Cape Town followed by Pretoria’s State Theatre and the Civic Theatre, Johannesburg.
In television Zandile was a presenter on Heita for e.tv and played one of the students in the soapie Backstage.
In 2005 she played the lead in the film Unrequited Love directed by Steve Berry and was featured in Beyond Berlin directed by Peter Samann.
Further experience includes commercial appearances for Woolworths, Nedbank, Cadbury’s, Clearasil and Captain Morgan; corporate theatre projects for Metrorail and Kagiso TV; and voice-over work for numerous clients.
In 2008 she guest starred in an episode of the SABC1 drama series Mtunzini.com playing the role of Dudu Langa, who becomes a suspect in her mother’s death. The episode was entitled “The Test (Part 1)” – Season 2, Episode 3.
In 2010 she had a guest stint on the SABC3 soapie Isidingo as Thembakazi, the Head of News. The following year she joined the cast of the e.tv soapie Rhythm City as young accountant Rhonda Rababe.
She also has a starring role as Lindiwe Cele, head of operations in the family business who is ambitious and regards herself as heiress of empire, in the Mzansi Magic soap opera Zabalaza.
Zandile Msutwana was nominated the SAFTA Golden Horn: Best Supporting Actress award in 2010 for her role in the 2009 White Wedding film
