Nominees for the 17th Annual South African Film and Television Awards (Safta) were announced on Tuesday, 08 August 2023, ahead of a ceremony on 29 and 30 September 2023 in Johannesburg, Gauteng.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The River<\/em> and Legacy<\/em>, both from Tshedza Pictures, have each received nominations in 11 categories for this year\u2019s TV Telenovela and Soap Awards. The Best TV Presenter and Most Popular Telenovela or Soap categories will once again be up for public voting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Voting will start on August 10, 2023, and the voting codes will be posted on all Saftas social media platforms and the NFVF website. The voting period will end on September 27, 2023, at 23:59.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year\u2019s SAFTA Craft and Main Awards ceremonies will be held in Johannesburg on the 29 and 30 September 2023 and will be broadcast live on the Saftas YouTube channel on 29 September 2023, The rebroadcast will happen later on SABC channels, while the Main Awards will be broadcast live on 30 September 2023 as a simulcast on DSTV channel 161 (Mzansi Magic) and S3 (SABC 3) from 19h00.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
