{"id":1135,"date":"2020-12-21T09:37:55","date_gmt":"2020-12-21T07:37:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/studentroom.co.za\/wiki\/?p=1135"},"modified":"2021-12-29T20:27:28","modified_gmt":"2021-12-29T18:27:28","slug":"university-of-south-africa-unisa-registration-how-to-register","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/studentroom.co.za\/wiki\/university-of-south-africa-unisa-registration-how-to-register\/","title":{"rendered":"University of South Africa (Unisa) Registration: How to register"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>University of South Africa (Unisa) invites prospective students who applied and accepted to register for the course or programme they wish to study at<strong> Unisa through distance learning.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>When you need to register<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The University of South Africa (Unisa) registration periods and dates are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Undergraduate qualifications (higher certificates, diplomas &amp; degrees, advanced certificates, advanced diplomas, BTechs &amp; postgraduate certificates):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Semester modules:<\/strong> 4 January &#8211; 24 January 2022<\/li><li><strong>Year modules:<\/strong> 4 January &#8211; 07 March 2022<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Master&#8217;s and doctoral:<\/strong> 4 January &#8211; 30 April 2022 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unisa.ac.za\/sites\/corporate\/default\/Register-to-study-through-Unisa\/Master%27s-&amp;-doctoral-degrees\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">some exceptions apply<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The steps are as follows<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Go to the Unisa registration website:<\/strong> <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/registration.unisa.ac.za\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/registration.unisa.ac.za<\/a><\/li><li>Choose the qualification level and then click &#8220;<strong>Go<\/strong>&#8220;.<\/li><li><strong>Enter your student number<\/strong> in the block provided and the other details as required. (If you don\u2019t have a student number you won\u2019t be able to continue. You&#8217;ll need to&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unisa.ac.za\/sites\/corporate\/default\/Apply-for-admission\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">apply online<\/a> for admission. During this process, a student number will be generated and communicated to you.)<\/li><li><strong>Check your personal details<\/strong> on screen. Change any contact details that are missing or incorrect. It is very important to provide your correct address and cellphone numbers. Incorrect information may delay the delivery of your study material and prevent you from receiving important information from the university.<\/li><li><strong>Click on the modules from the drop-down list&nbsp;for which you want to register<\/strong>. Ensure that you meet all the qualification requirements for your selected modules. You must<ul><li>meet all the pre-requisites and co-requisites for the selected module<\/li><li>enter the correct module code<\/li><li>select the correct semester (1 = first semester; 2 = second semester)<\/li><\/ul>* The language of tuition for each module is indicated in the module information.<\/li><li><strong>Do not exceed the prescribed number of modules<\/strong> per semester or year, as this may result in a delay in your registration being processed. Unisa retains the right to remove modules based on the number of credits allowed per semester and in accordance with the fees paid. Please take note of the&nbsp;<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.unisa.ac.za\/sites\/corporate\/default\/Register-to-study-through-Unisa\/Undergraduate-&amp;-honours-qualifications\/Find-your-qualification-&amp;-choose-your-modules\/Admission-and-re%E2%80%93admission-rules-(academic-progression-rules)\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">maximum period of time<\/a> you have to complete your qualification.<\/li><li><strong>Calculate your fees<\/strong><ul><li>Use the fee quotation link on the Unisa website (<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.unisa.ac.za\/feequote\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.unisa.ac.za\/feequote<\/a>) to obtain a quote for the cost of your modules.<\/li><li>Note the minimum fee that must be paid before Unisa will process your registration. If these fees are more than you can afford, remove modules until you can afford the fees.<\/li><li>You can make payment online, using a credit card at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.unisa.ac.za\/feepayment\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">http:\/\/www.unisa.ac.za\/feepayment<\/a>.<\/li><li>If you don\u2019t have a credit card, you can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.unisa.ac.za\/paymentinfo\">pay at a First National Bank branch<\/a>.
