Candy Moloi, birth name Mukondeleli Moloi was born in Thohoyandou, Limpopo. She was South African legendary actress.

Candy Moloi’s Children

Candy Moloi’s daughter is actress Lerato “Zah” Moloi. Lerato is best known for playing the role of Refiloe in SABC2 soapie Muvhango and currently playing the role of Detective Madikgetha in etv soapie Rhythm City. She also has son, Tshepo.

Career

Candy Moloi played a starring role as Vho-Makhadzi on the SABC2 soap opera Muvhango from 1997 to 2008.

She also played the role of MaModumedi in the SABC1 mini-series Death of a Queen, which aired as part of the channel’s “Shakespeare in Mzansi” strand from July to August, 2008.

In 2014 she starred as Fhatu Neluvhola, another mother to Dibuseng and unofficial ‘grandmother’ to Dibuseng’s two children, in the SABC2 thriller series Thola.

In April 2019, Candy also played the role of Vho-Phophi Baloyi in SABC2 drama Giyani – Land of Blood.

Awards

In 2009, Candy Moloi scooped the Best Supporting Actress in a Soapie award at the SAFTAs for her role in Muvhango.

Death and Cause of Death

Candy Moloi died on the morning of 28 July 2020 in Pretoria, Gauteng and she was 67. The cause of death is not yet known.
