Bushy Maape, full name Kaobitsa Abel Bushy Maape (born 1956 or 1957) is a South African politician and anti-apartheid activist who is the Premier-elect of the North West.
Kobitsa Abel Bushy Maape was born on the 1956 or 1957 in North-West. Bushy is a member of the African National Congress and a former Robben Island prisoner.
Bushy Maape earned a Bachelors of Arts degree in psychology and economics from the University of South Africa which he completed while imprisoned on Robben Island. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in developmental studies and a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in economics from the University of the Western Cape. He is currently studying for a Master of Management in the field of governance at the University of the Witwatersrand.
