The Western Cape Provincial Government invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for Traffic Student Learnership Programme 2023 / 2024.

Stipend: A training stipend of R 5 000.00 per month will be paid monthly for the duration of the training period.

Trainees must successfully complete the further education and Training Certificate Road Traffic Law Enforcement.

Adherence to the terms and conditions of the signed 12 month contract for the duration of the training program which includes practical deployment on a 24/7 shift system when needed.

ABOUT THE LEARNERSHIP

The Mobility Department will be recruiting Traffic Students for the completion of a Further Education and Training Certificate: Road Traffic Law Enforcement.

This is a twelve (12) month training course which will commence on Monday, 8 January 2024 at the Gene Louw College (GLTC), Brackenfell.

Should vacant and funded Provincial Inspector posts exist after obtaining the Further Education and Training Certificate, individuals may be offered permanent employment against such posts at one of the Provincial Traffic Centres, however, it is not guarenteed.

The various Traffic Centres are as follows: Beaufort West, Caledon, George, Knysna, Laingsburg, Metro (Cape Town), Mossel Bay, Oudtshoorn, Swellendam, Vredenburg, Vredendal and Worcester.

You may select only one Centre of preference closest to your residential area in the application questions. Provincial Traffic Law Enforcement provides a 24/7 traffic law enforcement service, therefore after appointment candidates will be expected to work shifts including Public holidays and Sundays and be willing to work additional hours, if required;

Successful candidates must obtain their own accommodation while attending at GLTC Brackenfell and will be responsible for there own transport, meals and accommodation fee for the duration of the 12 month course.

Students will be subject to the code of conduct of the College as well as competency requirements of the College; Students will be required to undergo extensive physical training, whilst at the College.

REQUIREMENTS

NOTE: One year or more driving experience will be an advantage.
