The VKB Group, a leading name in South Africa’s agricultural industry, is offering a fantastic opportunity for entry-level candidates to join its Reitz operation as a Learner Silo Operator. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for agriculture, grain handling, and silo operations.
As part of VKB Grain Services, this position offers a solid foundation to build a long-term career in the agri-processing sector.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or NQF Level 4
- Certificate in Grain Grading and Grain Fumigation (essential)
- Previous experience in a similar environment will be an advantage
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor the continuous flow of grain at the silo
- Perform grain fumigation as directed by the supervisor
- Monitor and report temperature variations in grain tubes
- Measure grain tubes in accordance with policy and safety regulations
- Operate silo systems in line with VKB Group policies and procedures
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- Punctual and responsible
- Strong conflict management skills
- Able to take initiative in problem-solving
- Team-oriented and safety-conscious
