Varsity College: Scholarships 2024

Varcity College invites South African students to apply for Scholarship Bursary Programme 2024 academic year.

Scholarship Application Closing Date: 06 October 2023

Excellence Scholarship:

Eligibility:

1. You must be currently in Matric OR have completed Matric (or equivalent).
2. You must have achieved one of the following:
   • A minimum overall average of 75% in Grade 11 (or equivalent), if currently in Matric.
   • A minimum overall average of 75% in Grade 12/Matric (or equivalent), if you have completed Matric.
   • A minimum result of 80% for 4 subjects (excluding Life Orientation).
3. You must intend to study full-time at a Varsity College campus in 2024.
4. You must be entering your first year of undergraduate studies.
5. You must meet the minimum entry criteria for your chosen undergraduate qualification.
6. You must have read and agreed to the Varsity College Scholarship Terms and Conditions (T&C’s).

Achiever Scholarship:

Eligibility:

1. You must be a South African citizen.
2. You must have achieved one of the following:
   • A minimum overall average of 60% in Grade 11 (or equivalent), if currently in Matric.
   • A minimum overall average of 60% in Grade 12/Matric (or equivalent), if you have completed Matric.
3. Your total household income must be LESS than R400,000 per year.
4. You must intend to study full-time at a Varsity College campus in 2024.
5. You must be entering your first year of undergraduate studies.
6. You must meet the minimum entry criteria for your chosen undergraduate qualification.
7. You must have read and agreed to the Varsity College Scholarship T&C’s.

Application Process:

To apply for the Varsity College Scholarship, follow these steps:

Step 1: Complete an undergraduate application to Varsity College.

Step 2: Complete the scholarship application form for the Varsity College campus you want to study at. The campuses include

• Cape Town
• Durban North
• Duban Westville
• Nelson Mandela Bay (previously PE)
• Pietermaritzburg
• Pretoria
• Sandton
• Waterfall

. Mention “StudentRoom.co.za” in the field asking how you heard about the Varsity College Scholarship.

Step 3: Upload clear copies of the following supporting documentation (mandatory for your application):

• Grade 11 final results and Matric latest results (certified copy)
• Matric certificate (certified copy) if you have completed Matric
• Parents or guardians proof of household income (most recent payslip or letter from the employer stating annual income/ affidavit if unemployed/ proof of sassa grant if applicable) (certified copy)
• Parents or guardians bank statements showing monthly income for the last 3 months (certified copy)
• Both parents or guardians tax certificates for 2022 (not required if they are not registered for tax) (certified copy)
• For Achiever Scholarship applicants: a motivation letter (maximum 600 words) (read the Varsity College Scholarship Guideline)

Important Notes:

• Consider scheduling a campus consultation/appointment with a Student Advisor before applying to assist with the application process.
• Submit only one application, and you will automatically be considered for the category you qualify for.
• Final selection for the Excellence Scholarship will be based on the latest school results.
• Final selection for the Achiever Scholarship will be based on school achievement and the motivational letter.
• You may apply for a maximum of 3 qualifications and rank them in order of preference.
• Successful candidates will be notified in writing no later than 3 November 2023.
• Recipients must confirm their acceptance by no later than 1 December 2023, pay the pre-admission fee, and complete the 2024 intake process.
