The University of the Free State (UFS) is excited to announce the availability of five Postdoctoral Research Fellowships in the Department of Pharmacology for 2024.

This is a unique opportunity for qualified candidates to engage in innovative research in the fields of ethnopharmacology, biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences, and molecular pharmacology.

Key Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be expected to:
- Conduct innovative research in pharmacology, including ethnopharmacology and drug discovery.
- Author or co-author at least three publications annually in accredited scholarly journals.
- Initiate research projects and seek funding opportunities.
- Participate in teaching and training of postgraduate students in pharmacology.
Eligibility Criteria
- Open to all South African and international candidates.
- Must have graduated with a PhD in a relevant discipline within the last five years.
- Must be available for full-time research and able to relocate to UFS.
- Cannot hold full-time salaried employment during the fellowship.
Fellowship Value
- Annual stipend: R300,000
- Additional research expenses fund: R30,000
