The University of Limpopo (UL) is set to open its doors for the 2025 academic year with an important reminder for all prospective students: the registration process for first-entering students will be held in January and February 2025. Here’s everything you need to know about the registration dates, as well as the necessary documents to ensure a smooth admission process.
Registration Dates
For first-entering students, registration will take place from:
- Thursday, 23 January 2025 to Friday, 31 January 2025: This is the official registration period for all new students.
- Late Registration: If you’re unable to register within the main registration period, you have another opportunity. Late registration will be open from Monday, 03 February 2025 to Friday, 07 February 2025. Please note that late registration often incurs additional fees, so it’s advisable to complete your registration within the official timeframe.
Important Note: Registration will be conducted according to the university’s regular working hours. Be sure to adhere to these times to avoid any complications.
University Re-opening
The University of Limpopo will officially re-open for the 2025 academic year on 08 January 2025. This is when the university begins preparations for welcoming students back to campus.
Required Documents for Registration
To ensure you qualify for admission and complete your registration smoothly, first-entering students must have the following documents:
- Matriculation Certificate: You should possess a matriculation certificate endorsed with a bachelor’s degree.
- Proof of Payment:
- Standard Bank deposit slip, or
- Bursary proof of payment document (if applicable).
- Certified Documents:
- Original Grade 12 Results: Make sure to bring the original copy of your Grade 12 results.
- Identity Document: A certified copy of your South African ID or passport.
- Faculty Letter of Acceptance: This is your official acceptance letter from the faculty of your choice.
Additional Requirements for International Students
For students coming from abroad, there are a few extra documents you will need to submit to complete your registration:
- Study Permit: A study permit issued by your embassy to legally study in South Africa.
- HESA Certificate: The Higher Education South Africa (HESA) certificate to confirm your qualifications.
- Medical Cover: Proof of medical cover for the duration of your studies.
- Both A-Level and O-Level Results: If applicable, you should also present your A-level and O-level results for verification
