Job Purpose:
Transnet SOC Ltd is recruiting and inviting suitably qualified individuals to submit applications for the 2024 Apprenticeship Programmes in various trades. The programme aligns with the Transnet Business Strategy and aims to place learners in specific areas within Transnet based on their academic background, career aspirations, and business requirements.

Transnet SOC Ltd is a large South African rail, port, and pipeline company headquartered in the Carlton Centre in Johannesburg. A majority of the company’s stock is owned by the Department of Public Enterprises (DPE) of the South African government.
Apprenticeship Trades and Regions:
The following apprenticeship trades and training opportunities are available:
- Electrician: Cambridge, EC
- Electromechanician: Bloemfontein, FS
- Electrical Fitter: Swartkops, EC
- Wagon Fitter: Uitenhage, EC; Saldanah, WC
- Turner Machinist: Uitenhage, EC; Bloemfontein, FS; Saltriver, WC
- Diesel Mechanic: Durban, KZN
- Structural Plater: Uitenhage, EC; Bloemfontein, FS; Saltriver, WC
- Mechanical Fitter: Durban, KZN; Saltriver, WC
Qualifications and Experience:
- NTC2 with 4 relevant trade subjects all passed, or
- Technical National Certificate Vocational Level 4 or higher with 7 subjects passed, or
- Technical Matric Certificate, including Pure Mathematics and Physical Science, passed with relevant trade theory passed.
