Are you a student residing within the Thaba Chweu Local Municipality in Mpumalanga? This bursary is your opportunity to pursue your undergraduate studies in preferred fields such as Engineering, Finance, IT, Town Planning, and Tourism.
Fields of Study
The bursary is open to students pursuing undergraduate degrees in these fields:
- Engineering and Environment (Roads, Stormwater, Water, Electricity, Waste Management)
- Finance and Human Resources
- Information Technology
- Town Planning and Human Settlements
- Travel and Tourism
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must meet these criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Reside within the Thaba Chweu Local Municipality, Mpumalanga.
- Be currently in Matric or have completed Matric.
- Achieve a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma pass in Matric.
- Be studying or plan to study towards an undergraduate qualification in one of the preferred fields.
- Be accepted to or enrolled at a recognised tertiary institution in South Africa (University, University of Technology, or FET College).
- Be in financial need.
- Must NOT be employed by the Municipality.

- Proof of household income (latest payslips, affidavits, or proof of grants/pensions, if applicable).
- Proof of acceptance from a tertiary institution (on institution’s letterhead).
- Proof of residence.
