Job Responsibilities

The Technician-in-Training will engage in a variety of tasks aimed at assembling, installing, commissioning, and maintaining advanced process measurement instruments globally. Key duties include:

  • Installation and Maintenance: Follow protocols for the assembly and upkeep of Mintek equipment.
  • Problem Solving: Diagnose electrical issues using circuit diagrams and implement appropriate repair methods.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to Mintek’s safety standards and participate in SHEQ procedures.
  • Procedure Improvement: Recommend better work practices and update procedures to enhance safety and efficiency.
  • On-Site Work: Test, calibrate, and maintain instruments; commission equipment on client sites.
  • Documentation: Complete detailed trip reports and ensure administrative tasks are performed in line with Mintek’s procedures.
  • Collaboration: Work as part of a team, sharing expertise and supporting development initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualification: National Diploma.
  • Practical Experience: Completion of an apprenticeship or work-integrated learning.
  • Driver’s Licence: Must obtain a Code EB licence within six months of starting (a condition of appointment).
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Experience in PB Board testing, setup, and troubleshooting.
    • Familiarity with the assembly and commissioning of online analysis equipment.
    • Previous work with Mintek Cynoprobe or C2 Meter is highly advantageous; similar product experience is also acceptable.

Additional Skills

  • Problem-solving and minimal supervision during troubleshooting.
  • Ability to support safety inspections and promote safe practices.
  • Effective communication and team collaboration skills.
