Steel & Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (SEIFSA): Bursaries 2024

Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa (SEIFSA) invites eligible South African students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.

Bursary application closing date is 30 November 2023.

SEIFSA (Steel and Engineering Industries Federation of Southern Africa) offers bursaries for undergraduate studies in various engineering fields to promote skill development within the sector.

Closing Date: Candidates will be notified of the outcome by no later than 31 January 2024.

About the Bursary

SEIFSA awards bursaries annually to support undergraduate studies in engineering-related disciplines. The bursary covers tuition fees directly paid to the institution, while additional study-related expenses such as books, accommodation, and meals are at the student’s expense.

Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, ensure that you meet the following minimum entry criteria:

  • South African citizenship
  • Age not exceeding 35 years
  • Currently in Matric (in 2023) or completed Matric
  • Good results in Mathematics and Science in Matric
  • Minimum overall average of 75% in Matric
  • Full-time undergraduate study in engineering at a recognized and accredited South African University or University of Technology
  • Preference given to SEIFSA member company employees and their dependents

Follow these steps to apply for the SEIFSA Bursary:

  • Download and complete the SEIFSA Bursary Application Form 2023 (.pdf)
  • Indicate “StudentRoom” as your source of hearing about the bursary.

Supporting Documents

Include clear copies of the following documents with your application form:

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Colour photo (passport size)
  • Matric latest results if currently in Matric (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate if completed Matric (certified copy)
  • Proof of registration/ acceptance at a University or University of Technology (institution’s letterhead)
  • Quotation of tuition fees from the institution (institution’s letterhead)
  • Latest academic results transcript if currently studying (certified copy)
  • Motivational letter stating why you should be awarded the bursary.

Send your application and documents via email to: bursaryapplications@seifsa.co.za (Use “SEIFSA Bursary Application – Your full name” as the email subject line). Ensure all required documents are included; incomplete submissions may disqualify your application. Deadline for submissions is the outcome notification date of 31 January 2024
