What the PPB Risk Graduate Programme Offers:

The PPB Risk Graduate Programme is a structured 18-month training opportunity designed for graduates who aspire to build a career in Risk Management. As a participant, you will be exposed to a variety of risk management functions within the Personal & Private Banking division, including Decision Science, Credit Solution Engineering, Lending Portfolios (such as Credit Cards, Home Finance, Car Finance, and Personal Loans), Fraud Risk Management, and Non-financial risk.

Through this comprehensive programme, you’ll rotate across different areas of the business to learn how risk is managed, gain critical insights into the banking industry, and develop analytical skills that will shape your career in risk management.

Key Programme Highlights:

• Rotational Learning: Gain extensive experience in risk management by rotating across various business units, allowing you to understand different aspects of risk in banking.
• Hands-On Projects: Participate in value-adding projects where you will apply your analytical skills to inform business decisions, improve credit strategies, and contribute to fraud risk insights.
• Data Science and Coding: Improve your coding skills and apply data science tools to automate risk assurance processes and drive digital credit solutions across Africa.
• Collaborative Environment: Work closely with senior executives and managers to gain exposure to high-level decision-making, and contribute to the development and monitoring of machine learning models, scorecards, and capital impairments.

Qualifications Needed: To apply for the PPB Risk Graduate Programme, candidates should have a Master’s or Honours degree in one of the following fields:

• Statistics
• Data Science
• Pure Mathematics
• Actuarial Science
• Informatics / Information Systems
• Computer Science
• Computational and Applied Mathematics
• Econometrics
• Behavioural Economics

Your Honours qualification should be completed by 31 December 2025.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be a South African citizen.
• If you have work experience, it should not exceed 18 months.
• Full academic transcripts for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies must be submitted with your application.
