SASRI has a great internship opportunity for a graduate within the entomology field who will join the team and assist in the development of insect rearing technology. The successful incumbent will receive an allowance of R3500.00 on a monthly basis. There is onsite accommodation, meals, clinic facilities and a laundry service at a monthly contribution of R380.00 (optional). The Entomology department plays a vital role at SASRI as it focuses on the protection of the crop against insect pests, allowing for maximum sugarcane growth.

• To help develop and test prototype machinery to be used to mechanise rearing operations
• To help develop, mix and evaluate different diet formulations to provide good quality moths ascheaply and efficiently as possible

• BSc with Entomology as a major
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• A strong desire to work in an agricultural research environment
• Desire to experiment with new technology, new products and new services
• Ability to work independently and within a team
