Siemens Bursaries 2025

Siemens invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2025.

Bursary Application Closing date is 31 January 2025.

Siemens is offering bursaries for students pursuing degrees in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, and Mechatronics for 2025. This is an excellent opportunity for South African students to gain financial support for their studies in “scarce skills” fields, as identified by the industry.

Fields of Study Eligible for Bursary:

  • Bachelor of Engineering Technology
  • Electrical Engineering (Heavy and Light Current) (BEng / BSc)
  • Electronic Engineering (BEng / BSc)
  • Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Mechatronics) (BEng)

Eligibility Requirements:

To apply for the Siemens Bursary Programme, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
  2. Age: Between 18 and 25 years old.
  3. Employment Status: Must be unemployed.
  4. Academic Requirements:
    • Must be currently in Matric (2024) or have completed Matric.
    • Must be studying or intending to study full-time towards one of the qualifications listed above, in 2025.
    • Must be studying at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa.
    • Must have achieved a minimum of Level 5 for English, Level 5 for Pure Mathematics, and Level 5 for Physical Science in Matric.
    • Must have an overall average of at least 65% for the current year of study (Matric or tertiary studies).
  5. Other Criteria:
    • Must not be receiving funding from any other bursary, scholarship, or NSFAS.
    • Preference will be given to students from disadvantaged backgrounds.
    • Must be passionate about Engineering and Technology.

Service Contract:

Bursary recipients are required to perform vacation work at Siemens.

Selection Process:

  1. Initial Application: Submit your application online by 31 January 2025.
  2. Video Interview: Successful applicants will be contacted for a virtual video interview.
  3. Bursary Award: If you pass the interview, you will be awarded the bursary. If you do not hear back, your application was unsuccessful.

Required Documents:

Make sure to submit the following documents when applying:

  • Certified copy of your ID document.
  • Certified copy of Grade 11 final results and Matric trial results (if currently in Matric).
  • Certified copy of Matric certificate (if completed).
  • Proof of acceptance to study at a recognized tertiary institution (on the institution’s letterhead).
  • Certified copy of your full tertiary academic record (if currently studying).
  • Curriculum Vitae (CV).
  • Motivational letter to support your application.
