Sibanye-Stillwater: Official Mining Learnerships 2023

Sibanye-Stillwater invites unemployed youth to apply for Official Mining Learnership Programme 2023 / 2024.

Learnership Application Closing Date: 22 June 2023

Learnership Location: Free-State

Minimum Required Qualification:

• Grade 12 or equivalent NQF Educational Certificate with Pure Mathematics and English Communication
• Must have current mining experience working underground in the primary production
• Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk-based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Care Centre

The Appointee should:

• Shortlisted applicants will need to undergo an interview process and psychometric assessment, which will be considered during final allocation of learnerships
• Application forms can be obtained from the Sibanye Stillwater website and from the Intranet
• The selection process will not be delayed to accommodate applicants whose screening process is delayed for whatsoever reason.
• Applicants must upload current; Record of Service, CV, certified (SAPS) copies of ID and qualifications as part of their online application
• Foreign qualifications must have SAQA verification
• Incomplete applications will not be considered for selection

Advantageous Qualifications:

• Applicants with four (4) or more years current mining experience in primary production
• Team Leaders or Operators with current experience in stoping / developing
• Applicants with the highest academic results for Grade 12 (Pure Mathematics with English)
• Applicants who have completed a higher education qualification in mining (BSc Degree or Diploma)

Key Responsibilities:

• Learners this qualification will be equippped with the required competencies to supervise safe and efficient blasting and other associated mining activities in an underground environment
