Your admission to Sekhukhune TVET College is dependent on you meeting the specific general admission requirements for your chosen qualification. If you don’t meet these requirements, you may want to consider alternative qualifications or possibly, if you qualify, an extended programme (refer to the college admission requirements), enabling you to register for limited modules in your first year.

Potential students must demonstrate the following competencies in order to be eligible for placement on the College programmes:
1. PROGRAM 191: BUSINESS STUDIES

- Compulsory placement test
- NSC (Passed at least 5 subjects)

2. REPORT 191: ENGINEERING STUDIES NB! All new Engineering students must start at N1

3. DISTANCE LEARNING
• Must produce certified results, ID and at least a Gr 9 qualification.
4. EXAM ONLY
• Students must produce certified results and ID.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
• If students with a N4-N6 certificate wants to enrol for N2 they must start with N1

LEVEL 2: BUSINESS STUDIES
- Gr 12 passed without higher certificate
- Passed Gr 11
- Passed Gr 9 or 10 with a 40% pass in English and 30% pass in Maths.
- Passed Gr 9 or 10 but failed English and Maths will be placed on a waiting list.
- Financial Management: passed Accounting
LEVEL 2: ENGINEERING STUDIES
- Gr 12 passed without higher certificate with Maths
- Passed Gr 11 with Maths
- Passed Gr 9 or 10 with a 40% pass in English and 30% pass in Maths.
- Passed Gr 9 or 10 but failed English and Maths will be placed on a waiting list.
- For IT course – Gr 12 and passed Maths
LEVEL 3
- Passed Level 2 (At least 5 subjects – must enrol for supplementary)
- Students can only enrol for 7 subjects in a year
LEVEL 4
- Passed Level 2 in all 7 subjects
- Passed Level 3 (At least 5 subjects – must enrol for supplementary)
NB:
- A candidate can only register on two consecutive levels in an academic year, i.e. Levels 2 and 3 or Levels 3 and 4, but not on Levels 2 and 4 or all three levels simultaneously.
- The full ICASS component is to be completed for all seven subjects offered in an academic year to ensure that tuition is offered even for subjects being repeated and the ICASS component is to retain its currency of 1 academic year.
- The same optional vocational subject is to be offered across all three levels by a candidate irrespective of the name change which may take place across Levels 2, 3 and 4.

Prospective students must complete a placement questionnaire which will assist the student in choosing the correct career path.
Placement tests are written in September – October every year and also in January. To assure your space you are advised to write the test during September.
