What the Sasol Bursary Covers
The Sasol Bursary is a full-package bursary that includes:
- Registration and tuition fees
- Books, accommodation, and meal allowances
- Pocket money and a once-off computer and calculator allowance
- Development opportunities, including vacation work and mentorship
- Monthly stipends for postgraduate students
Postgraduate bursars benefit from technical mentorship and the opportunity to join Sasol as a Scientist-in-Training or Engineer-in-Training.
Who Should Apply?
Undergraduate applicants:
- South African citizens currently in Matric or already studying full-time
- Strong academic performance, especially in Maths (Level 6), Science (Level 6), and English
- Enrolled or planning to enroll at an approved South African University (excluding UNISA)
- Able to complete studies within the minimum duration
University of Technology applicants:
- Matric with Level 5 in Maths, Science, and English
- Full-time study intention at a South African University of Technology
Postgraduate applicants:
- BSc/BEng degree holders in relevant fields
- 65% minimum for previous academic year
- Intention to pursue full-time MSc/MEng/PhD studies in 2026
- Clear idea of a research topic in line with Sasol’s sustainability focus
