Sasol Inzalo Foundation: Bursaries 2018 in South Africa
Sasol Inzalo Foundation invites qualifying students to apply for Bursary Programme for 2018 academic year to study at a recognized South African University.
Bursary online application deadline is 19 January 2018
Bursary Provider: Sasol Inzalo Foundation
Bursary Location: South Africa
Sasol Inzalo Foundation (SalF) is urging learners who have completed Grade 12 and have been admitted to an academic institution to apply for its all-inclusive bursary before the closing date, Friday 19 January 2018.
To be considered, candidates must be South African citizens and have been accepted or provisionally accepted at a South African University or University of Technology for 2018.
SalF was established in 2008 with a mandate to enable access to tertiary education opportunities for learners from low income households in South Africa and to assist in alleviating bottlenecks in the country’s schooling system. The Foundation is also involved in boosting the pool of vocational skills through its one-of-a-kind technical schools programme.
In the past, the SalF bursary programme only catered for learners studying towards a bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) related fields. This has now been revised. Owing to the pressing need to improve access to tertiary education for young learners, the Foundation has expanded its offering to allow learners to study towards careers in STEM-related and non-STEM related fields. The latter includes a career of one’s choice but exclusively for qualifying learners from Sasol fence-line communities, children of and/or Sasol Inzalo shareholders and children of Sasol employees.
The Foundation offers a comprehensive bursary which covers the cost of tuition, registration, accommodation, books, laptop, monthly stipends, optometric support, academic support as well as psycho-social to enable them to successfully complete their studies.
