The South African Police Service hereby invites unemployed youth who conform to the requirements for a twelve-month internship programme at Division: Research: Management Intervention. The internship programme is part of the National Human Resource Development Strategy and the National Skills Development Strategy.

Requirements:
- Must be between ages 18 – 35
- Be a South African citizen
- Must be in possession of:
- National Diploma: Information Technology, OR
- BSc Degree: Computer Science, OR
- BSc Degree: Informatics
- Must have no criminal record(s)
- Applicants must be unemployed and never participated in an internship programme previously
- The intern must understand and be able to use both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies in research project
- Understand how to conduct a literature review and analyse literature review
- Have good communication skills
Duties:
- Provide administrative functions in the office of Research Governance and Coordination
- Manage documentation in the office of Research Governance and Coordination
- Monitor the execution of the SAPS Rsearch Agenda and rsearch proposals from internally and externally
- Monitor the implementation of the rsearch project intents
- Update the database of the research conducted by, for and about the SAPS
- Capture and update the database on the explicit policing knowledge assets
- Capture and update the database on the tacit policing knowledge assets
- Manage and control the rsearch knowledge repository
