Job Purpose
- The purpose of the internship is to afford students who studied for a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering the opportunity to gain workplace experience and be exposed to general production processes at our Engineering & Projects department.
The incumbent will receive training and thereafter perform the following:
- Work alongside Engineers and Workshop staff to refine current designs;
- Troubleshoot issues and work to resolve these;
- Run cycle time comparisons for build time (Current v’s proposed);
- Mechanical 3D CAD design of components and systems;
- Modelling and simulation.
Who may apply
Safety oriented and takes ownership of safety culture
- Must be medically fit to be able to qualify as a radiation and chemical worker
- Computer literate
- Self-motivated, willing to learn beyond production activities
- Must be willing to work night shifts and arrange own transport
- Must be punctual, dependable and able to perform ad hoc tasks in order to meet the needs of the department
- Must work in accordance with cGMP requirements Good interpersonal skills and able to function in a team
Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12 Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Lean Manufacturing Ethos,
- Office software related proficiencies (Word, Excel, Adobe, etc)
- Exceptional Communication Flexible and open minded Market
