Northern Cape Dept of Transport Safety and Liaison is seeking applications for the position of Security Officers (143 x positions).

• Salary: R147,036.00 per annum (Salary level 3)
• Post Reference: 1/05/24

Requirements:

• ABET/Grade 11 Certificate and Grade ‘’C’’ PSIRA or equivalent qualification.
• 1–2 years’ experience in security operations.
• No criminal records or pending cases.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Willingness to work irregular hours, shifts (Day/Night), weekends, and holidays.
• Willingness to undergo vetting.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of Security legislation, policies, and procedures.
• Familiarity with Public Service Regulations, Security Registers, Batho Pele Principles, MISS.
• Good customer management, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Time management.

Duties:

• Perform access control functions.
• Escort visitors and contractors within premises.
• Conduct electronic searches on individuals and baggage.
• Ensure safety of staff and visitors.
• Conduct general and patrolling duties, including vehicle searches.
• Maintain records of incidents.
• Monitor access to parking areas.
• Register and authorize the departure of departmental assets.
• Prevent unauthorized access and the entry of dangerous objects.
