North West Provincial Government Bursaries 2025

North West Provincial Government invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2025.

Bursary Application Closing date is 13 January 2025.

The Victor Thebe Sifora Provincial Bursary Scheme offered by the North West Provincial Government is now open for applications for the 2025 academic year. Below is a detailed guide on the bursary, eligibility criteria, application process, and deadlines.

    • Bio Resource Engineering (Bachelor’s Degree)
    • Food Science and Food Technology (Bachelor’s Degree)
    • Plant Pathology and Entomology (Bachelor’s Degree)
    • Soil Science and Agronomy (Bachelor’s Degree)
    • Veterinary Science (BVSc) (Bachelor’s Degree)
  2. Arts, Culture, Sports, and Recreation:
    • Film and Television (Bachelor of Arts)
    • Translation Studies (Setswana & English, Sesotho & English, English & Afrikaans, Xhosa & English) (Bachelor’s Degree)
  3. Education:
    • Sign Language and Braille (Grades R-3 and Grades 4-6) (Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma)
  4. Health:
    • Audiology (Bachelor’s Degree)
    • Radiography (Bachelor’s Degree)
    • Speech Therapy (Bachelor’s Degree)
  5. Mining:
    • Chemical, Mining Engineering and Mineral Beneficiation (Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma)
    • Electrical, Civil, and Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma)
    • Environmental Engineering (Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma)
    • Quantity Surveying (Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma)
  6. Social Development:
    • Organisational Development (Bachelor’s Degree / National Diploma)

Bursary Coverage:

The bursary will cover:

  • Full tuition fees
  • Accommodation
  • Study materials
  • Other essential study-related expenses

Eligibility Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following criteria to apply:

  • South African citizen
  • Resident of the North West province
  • Currently in Matric (Grade 12) in 2024 or have already completed Matric
  • Studying or intending to study full-time in an undergraduate program for one of the listed fields in 2025
  • Enrolled or intending to enroll at a recognized and accredited public tertiary institution in South Africa
  • Strong academic record
  • Preference will be given to students in financial need

How to Apply:

  2. Required Documents (all documents must be certified and uploaded):
    • Certified copy of your ID document
    • Certified copy of your Matric final results/certificate (NSC certificate must be submitted as soon as available)
    • Certified copy of your latest academic results, if currently studying
    • Proof of university acceptance, if available
    • Proof of income of parents or guardians (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, pension statements if receiving a state pension, or death certificate if deceased)
    • Proof of residence (letter from Traditional Authority if in a village, letter from Municipality if in a town/township/farm; NOT a utility bill)
    • Proof of disability (doctor’s letter/medical record), if applicable

Closing Date:

  • 13 January 2025
    Ensure your application is submitted before this date, as late submissions will not be accepted.

Selection Process:

  • Shortlisted candidates will be contacted by March 2025. If you do not hear from them by this time, please consider your application unsuccessful.
