McCain is seeking applications from University students for the position of General Worker.
Location: McCain Delmas site, Mpumalanga

Job Vacancy: General Worker: Rouging
Reporting to: Team Leader
Purpose of the Job: The role involves daily inspection of a potato field for approximately 8 weeks to identify and remove unhealthy plants and weeds. The removed unhealthy plants and their tubers will be discarded. Additionally, during planting and harvesting seasons, the worker will assist at the seed store with tasks such as receiving, grading, bagging, and general work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct field walks to identify and remove unhealthy plants along with their tubers.
- Provide feedback on the removal activity during field walks.
- During the off-season, support bagging and grading activities in Seed Stores.
- Assist with general work when required.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or Equivalent.
- Experience in potato seed handling.
- Literacy and numeracy skills.
- Effective communication abilities.
- Team player mindset.
- Capable of walking long distances.
- Visual capability to differentiate between healthy and unhealthy plants.
