Master Builders Association Western Cape (MBAWC): Bursaries 2024

The Master Builders Association Development Trust (MBADT) invites students to submit applications for the Bursary Programme for the academic year 2024.

Bursary application closing date is 19 January 2024.

The Master Builders Association Development Trust (MBADT) Bursary, sponsored by the Master Builders Association Western Cape (MBAWC), is available for the 2024 academic year in the Built Environment sector.

Fields of Study Covered:

  • University Degree studies: Civil Engineering (BSc), Construction Studies (BSc), Construction Management (BSc Hons), Quantity Surveying (BSc Hons), Project Management (MSc), other fields
  • University of Technology National Diploma studies: Construction (Extended) (Diploma), Construction (Diploma), Construction (Advanced Diploma), Construction Health & Safety (Advanced Diploma), Quantity Surveying (Advanced Diploma), other fields

Bursary Coverage and Selection:

  • The bursary covers tuition fees only, paid in 2 installments based on academic performance.
  • Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance.
  • Successful candidates will be notified by 12 February 2024.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • South African citizen residing in the Western Cape
  • Matriculated from a Western Cape school
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in one of the specified Built Environment courses at a recognized Western Cape tertiary institution
  • Should not qualify for NSFAS funding or other bursary funds
  • Preference for employees or family of MBAWC member companies, or those employed for 24 months by a compliant BIBC benefit system member

How to Apply:

  • Download and complete the MBAWC Bursary Application Form 2024 (.pdf)
  • Submit necessary documents: ID copy, academic records, acceptance at a tertiary institution, motivational letter, and an affidavit confirming income surpasses NSFAS limits.
  • Email applications to benjamin@mbawc.org.za with the subject line “MBAWC Bursary 2024”.

Closing Date: 19 January 2024. Applications received after this date will not be considered.

Please ensure all documentation is complete and submitted before the closing date.
