KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development: Graduate Placement Programme 2024
The KwaZulu-Natal Department of Agriculture and Rural Development invites applications for its Graduate Placement Programme, a 24-month initiative aimed at empowering unemployed agricultural graduates with practical experience and mentorship opportunities. This program seeks to enhance entrepreneurial skills and career prospects within the agricultural industry.
Programme Focus Areas
Successful candidates will gain hands-on experience in these key areas:
- Livestock rearing and poultry production
- Horticulture and crop production
- Aquaculture production
- Agro-processing
- Veterinary medicine and pharmaceuticals
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Nationality: Be a South African citizen.
- Qualification: Hold a recognised Diploma or Degree in agriculture.
- Unemployment: Be unemployed and entering this program or any similar government program for the first time.
- Priority: Agricultural graduates from Colleges of Agriculture will be given preference.
- Residency: Reside in specific districts within KwaZulu-Natal.
- Proof: Attach an original affidavit indicating your place of residence. You must apply in the district where you reside.
- Passion for Agriculture: Demonstrate interest and commitment to the agricultural sector.

- A completed Z83 form (available at any Public Services Department).
- A detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- On the interview day, shortlisted candidates must bring:
- Certified copies of relevant qualifications.
- Certified copy of a green barcoded South African ID or a new ID card (both sides).
- Certified academic results from the issuing institution.
- Proof of residency (affidavit required).
