Kazakhstan Government Scholarships 2025 for International Students – Study in Kazakhstan

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan invites international students to apply for the Kazakhstan Government Scholarships for the 2025 academic year.

International students, including persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of Kazakhstan, can now apply for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD scholarships for full-time study in Kazakhstan. This initiative aims to promote Kazakhstan as an international education hub by offering quality higher education opportunities across various fields of study.

Scholarship Benefits
The Kazakhstan Government Scholarship covers:
- Full tuition fees
- Monthly allowance based on academic programme level
Note:
The scholarship does not cover travel costs, accommodation, visa fees, or medical insurance. Applicants must make their own financial arrangements for these expenses.
Who Can Apply?
- Foreign citizens and persons of Kazakh nationality who are not citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- Applicants must meet academic and language proficiency requirements relevant to the degree level they are applying for.
Application Requirements
Applications must be submitted online between 30 March 2025 and 31 May 2025 via Study in Kazakhstan Portal.
Required documents vary by degree level and include:
- Identity document
- Academic qualifications and transcripts (with certified translations)
- Motivational essay
- Two letters of recommendation
- Medical certificate for studying abroad and HIV/AIDS certificate
- Completed questionnaire
- Proof of foreign language proficiency (Master’s and PhD only)
- Justification of dissertation topic (PhD only)
Accepted Language Proficiency Tests (for Master’s and PhD Applicants)
- English: TOEFL iBT (min 46), TOEFL PBT (min 453), IELTS Academic (min 5.5)
- German: DSH (B2), TestDaF (B2)
- French: TFI (B2), DELF/DALF (B2), TCF (min 400 points)
- Chinese: HSK (Level 4+)
Language certificates are not required if previous education was conducted in the same language as the programme of application.
