The Jones & Wagener (JAWS) invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2026 academic year.
Bursary Application closing date is 31 July 2025
This prestigious bursary aims to support deserving South African students who demonstrate academic excellence, financial need, and a passion for engineering and science.
Fields of Study Covered
The JAWS Bursary is available for students pursuing BEng or BSc degrees in the following fields:
- Civil Engineering
- Environmental Science
- Geochemistry
- Geology
What the Bursary Covers
The bursary will provide coverage for:
- Tuition fees (as a minimum)
- Accommodation (may be included)
- Prescribed textbooks (limited allowance)
Additional Benefits
- Recipients must complete 6 weeks of paid vacation work at Jones & Wagener offices (Rivonia or Centurion) during the July and/or December holidays.
- After graduation, students are required to work for Jones & Wagener for a period equal to the duration of the bursary.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a South African citizen
- Must have completed Matric, or currently be in Grade 12
- Must plan to study toward a BEng or BSc in one of the listed fields in 2026
- Must be accepted or intend to study at an accredited South African university
- Must have a strong academic record
- Must have achieved at least 75% in Mathematics and Physical Science in Matric (or Grade 11 if currently in Matric)
- Must have proven financial need
- Preference will be given to students who reflect Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) criteria

- Grade 11 final results and latest Matric results (if currently in Grade 12)
