Johannesburg City Parks and Zoo is seeking 22 individuals with Grade 10 for the position of Artisan Assistant.

Location: Springfield & Joburg Zoo

Job Details:

• Position: Artisan Assistant (22 Permanent Positions Available)
• Salary Range: Minimum R14,116.71 – Maximum R19,056.66 per month

Job Purpose:

The role involves the maintenance of park facilities, playground equipment, and buildings within JCPZ.

Responsibilities Include:

• Completion of assigned worksheets and checklist
• Installation and repair work within parks (such as bins, benches, fencing, walls, paving, etc.)
• Regular cleaning and maintenance of work area and tools
• Reporting incidents, deviations, and hazardous conditions
• Compliance with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) guidelines
• Participation in meetings and adherence to work procedures

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Grade 10 qualification
• 1 to 2 years of experience in the artisan field
• Proficiency in English

Competencies Sought:

• Familiarity with JCPZ business operations, policies, and procedures
• Proficiency in a second language, preferably Vernacular
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Good interpersonal skills and a people-oriented mindset
• Orientation towards information, time, and performance
• High values and integrity in work conduct
