IEB Matric Results

In 2022, IEB matric candidates obtained a 98.42% pass rate with 89.32% of the candidates achieving bachelor’s passes. The 2022 pass rate is slightly higher than that of 2021, which was 98.39%.

With an impressive average pass rate ranging from 97% to 98%, the IEB ensures a high level of success for students completing their secondary education. This also sets up learners to pressure higher education at South Africa’s Universities, Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) colleges and Private Colleges.

The IEB NSC is quality assured by Umalusi, the Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education in South Africa.

Preparing For Your Matric Exams

During the exam period, learners often experience high levels of stress, making it crucial to prepare adequately while taking care of their well-being.

Learners are encouraged to maintain a positive attitude and understanding the importance of retaining the information learned can also enhance memory retention.

Learners should practise techniques on how to answer exam questions. This can be done by making use of past papers and evaluating how the question must be answered according to the past papers’ memorandum.

Evaluate the mark allocation for a question and fill in the answer that you think would justify aching the marks allocated to a specific question. Identify the gaps between the way you are answering a question and what is being asked, then revise to improve your question-answering ability.

To stimulate learning, learners are encouraged to take short breaks and spend some time outdoors for a change of scenery and fresh air. Breaking up study sessions into manageable sections helps prevent fatigue and anxiety.

Consistent revision is vital for retaining information effectively, so perseverance is key. Proper rest, nutrition, and hydration are essential, as studying for exams can be mentally taxing and physically demanding.

On The Day Of The IEB Matric Exam

On the day of the exam, learners should ensure they have all necessary stationery and identification documents. Arriving at the exam venue with sufficient time before the start allows for stress-free preparation.

A period of ten minutes before the official commencement of the examination will be allowed for reading time over and above the reading of any other instructions that may be necessary.
