Hortgro invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2025 academic year.

The Hortgro Bursary Programme for the 2025 academic year is now open for applications. The bursaries are aimed at students pursuing studies in various agricultural fields, including Agri-Management, Agricultural Biotechnology, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Science, Entomology, Horticulture, Marketing Specialist, Microbiology, Plant Pathology, Project Management, and Soil and Water Science.
Eligibility Requirements:
- South African citizen
- Completed Matric or currently in Matric
- Studying or intending to study within one of the specified fields in 2025
- Enrolled or registered at a recognized South African tertiary institution
- Meeting the admission requirements for the chosen course

Supporting Documentation:
Shortlisted applicants may need to provide certified copies of:
- ID document or both sides of ID card
- Matric certificate or latest Matric results
- Latest tertiary academic record
- Proof of tertiary registration
- Estimated breakdown of study fees
- Parents/guardians ID documents and proof of income
- Proof of any other financial assistance
- An essay detailing personal information, career plans, future role in agriculture, and reasons for deserving the bursary
- 2 contactable references
Bursary Expectations:
- Quarterly updates to Hortgro on studies and well-being
- Submission of semester results
- Maintenance of good behavior
- Attendance at Hortgro functions
Renewal and Selection:
- The bursary is renewable annually based on academic performance.
- Access to a mentor for motivation and support.
- Final selection by a committee.
