The Free State Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs (COGTA) is looking for qualified candidates to fill five (5) Administrative Officer positions across various Tribal Councils.

Job Overview: Administrative Officer (x5 Posts)

• Salary: R325 101 per annum (Level 07, basic salary)
• Contract Type: Permanent

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
• 3 years’ administration experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or team leader role.
• Experience in providing secretarial or administrative support.
• Knowledge or understanding of the Public Service and Traditional Affairs is advantageous.
• Good computer literacy and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• General office management, registry, and telephonic support.
• Supervisory duties and administrative support for the Traditional Council.
• Financial administration and budget tracking.
• Secretarial services: preparing agendas, typing minutes, and handling logistics for meetings.
• Community liaison for events, community projects, funeral arrangements, and library access.
• Record keeping of community matters such as livestock registers and civil cases.
• Coordination with departments and NGOs on community upliftment projects like HIV/AIDS programs, home-based care, and agriculture.
