FASSET (Finance and Accounting Services Sector Education and Training Authority) invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2025.

The FASSET Bursary Programme is back for 2025, offering South African students the chance to pursue their studies in the Finance and Accounting Services (FAS) sector, as well as Information Technology (IT) and other critical skills areas. What Does the FASSET Bursary Cover?

The FASSET Bursary Programme is designed to support students in achieving their academic goals by covering a wide range of educational expenses. The bursary offers financial assistance for the following:

The bursary amount is capped at R100,000 for University and University of Technology studies, and R40,000 for TVET college studies, ensuring that students receive adequate financial support throughout their academic journey.

FASSET Bursary Programme: Eligibility Criteria

Before you apply, make sure you meet the following minimum eligibility criteria:

  1. South African Citizen
    You must be a South African citizen.
  2. Unemployed
    You should currently be unemployed at the time of application.
  3. Matriculating in 2024 or Have Completed Matric
    You must be in Matric in 2024 or have already completed your Matric.
  4. Studying in 2025
    You must be planning to study in 2025 within the Finance and Accounting Services (FAS) sector, Information Technology (IT), or any other national critical skills areas.
  5. Registered at a South African Tertiary Institution
    You should be registered at a Public University, University of Technology, or TVET College in South Africa for your 2025 studies.
  6. Household Income
    Your total household income should not exceed R1 million per annum.

How to Apply for the FASSET Bursary 2025

    You’ll need to submit the following mandatory documents with your application:
    • Certified Copy of Your ID Document (not older than 6 months)
    • Matric Trial Exam Results (if currently in Matric)
    • Highest Qualification and Academic Record (certified copy, not older than 6 months)
    • Proof of Registration or Acceptance at a Public University, University of Technology, or TVET College
    • Parents’ or Guardians’ ID Documents or Death Certificates (certified copies, not older than 6 months)
    • Proof of Household Income (latest payslips if employed, affidavit if unemployed, proof of pension or grant if applicable)
    • Proof of Address
    • Completed FASSET 2025 Unemployment Declaration Letter (download the .docx)
  3. Submit Before the Deadline
    Be sure to submit your application before the 31 December 2024 deadline at 23:59 midnight. Late applications will not be considered.
