About the YES Initiative
The Youth Employment Service (YES) is a public-private initiative led by the Presidency of South Africa to combat the youth unemployment crisis. Eskom, as part of this initiative, is offering work opportunities for unemployed youth in the energy sector.
Minimum Requirements:
- Disability: Must be a South African citizen living with a disability.
- Age: Between 18 to 34 years.
- Education: Must have completed Grade 12 with Mathematics, Accounting, Physical Science, and English.

- Accountability
- Communication Skills
Selection Criteria:
- Employment History: Should not have been employed permanently with a single employer for more than 1 year.
- Education Status: Should not be studying full-time in the year of employment.
- Previous Participation: Should not have participated in or registered for the YES initiative before.
Successful applicants will undergo a recruitment process, and if selected, will be placed in Eskom Operations across the Central East Cluster in KwaZulu-Natal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the Youth Employment Service (YES) initiative aimed at addressing youth unemployment.
- Gain valuable work experience in the energy industry with a 12-month contract.
- Potential placement in one of the following departments:
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Maintenance & Operations
- Business Enablement
- Asset Creation
- Customer Services
