The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) is the country’s election management body. Established under Chapter Nine of the Constitution, its primary functions include managing elections at all government levels, ensuring free and fair elections, and promptly declaring election results (within seven days, as per the Electoral Commission Act).
