Requirements:

  • A Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) certificate with Finance/Accounting subjects.
  • An advantage would be a post-matric qualification in Finance/Accounting.
  • At least one year of relevant experience.
  • A valid RSA or Military driver’s license.
  • Basic knowledge of financial and accounting processes.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office software packages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate with various personnel, including medical practitioners, South African National Defence Force (SANDF) members, and Public Service Act Personnel (PSAP).
  • Open to work-related suggestions and ideas and committed to completing tasks.
  • Hardworking, loyal, and dedicated.
  • Sound knowledge of the Public Finance Management Act and Treasury Regulations.
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and correctly apply financial policies and regulations.

Duties:

  • The primary responsibility is to ensure the timely payment of medical invoices.
  • Use the Finance Management System (FMS) to accurately process payments.
  • Confirm that medical practitioners have supplier codes.
  • Verify that the account/invoice hasn’t been paid before.
  • Respond to inquiries related to the payment of medical accounts/invoices.
  • Conduct inquiries on PERSOL regarding the medical details of SANDF members.
  • Prepare accounts for payment.
  • Strictly and correctly apply all policy prescripts and regulations concerning the payment of medical accounts.
  • Assist in general office administration, including filing, document duplication, and collecting/delivering documentation.
