Job Purpose

As a Corrosion Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to deliver effective corrosion prevention, control, and protective coating consulting services to the SA Navy and Armscor Dockyard. Key Responsibilities

  1. Advisory Services: Offer expert guidance on coating technology and the latest corrosion control engineering developments.
  2. Cathodic Protection: Design, install, operate, and maintain cathodic protection facilities, ensuring all systems function optimally.
  3. Preparation and Painting Specifications: Draft specifications for surface treatments and ensure correct implementation.
  4. Field Trials and Testing: Conduct corrosion field trials and accelerated tests using advanced equipment.
  5. Consultancy on Coatings: Recommend coating systems based on performance and longevity, covering everything from surface preparation to application methods.
  6. Technical Advice: Provide insights on corrosion prevention materials and techniques to internal and external stakeholders.
