City Power Joburg Bursaries 2025
City Power Johannesburg invites South African students to apply for Bursary Programme 2025.
Bursary Application Closing date is 31 January 2025.
City Power Johannesburg (SOC) Limited is committed to the social and economic development of the region, City Power is offering bursaries to deserving students, particularly those pursuing studies in key sectors such as Electrical Engineering, Risk Management, Environmental Health Management, and Information Technology.
This is a great opportunity for students from the City of Johannesburg service area to receive financial assistance for their tertiary studies. With a gender ratio of 70% female to 30% male, this initiative is aimed at promoting gender equality in education and career opportunities.
Bursary Fields of Study:
City Power is offering bursaries for the following qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering (Heavy/Light Current)
- Risk Management
- Environmental Health Management
- Information Technology
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible for the City Power Johannesburg bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Geographical Location: Applicants must be from within the City of Johannesburg service area.
- Gender Ratio: Preference will be given to female applicants (70% female, 30% male).
- Academic Requirements:
- Grade 12 learners must have a minimum of 60% (C symbol) and meet the admission criteria of the relevant educational institution.
- Undergraduate students at Universities, Universities of Technology, or TVET Colleges must have an academic average of at least 60%.
- Preferably, students should be enrolled at universities or TVET colleges based in Gauteng, although this is not a strict requirement.
- South African Citizenship: You must be a South African citizen.
Required Documentation:
Ensure that your application is complete by including the following documents:
- Completed Application Form – This form is available for download on the City Power Careers website.
- Certified Copy of Academic Transcript (if currently an undergraduate university student).
- Certified Copy of Matric Certificate (for Grade 12 learners).
- Certified Copy of South African Identity Document.
- Proof of Acceptance from a tertiary institution (for current undergraduate students).
