City of Johannesburg: Internships 2023 / 2024
City of Johannesburg invites South African unemployed graduates to apply for the Internship Programme 2023 / 2024.

Internship Location: Johannesburg, Gauteng
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) is offering Internship opportunities to suitably qualified and unemployed graduates. The Interships will run for a a period NOT exceeding eighteen (18) months.
Interns will be required to sign an internship agreement, in additional to an employment contract, committing themselves to full participation in the educational and workplace assignments in accordance with laid-down policies and procedures.
The following Internship Opportunities are open for applications:
Environmental Health Interns
Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent. Registered with the Health Professional Council of South Africa;
Duties: Assist the EHP to carry out measures for protecting public health, including administering and enforcing legislation related to environmental health and providing support to minimize health and safety hazards. Ensure that the staff at Environmental Health Unit can interpret requirements and apply administrative procedures and guidelines to improve efficiency. Control the administrative requirements associated with Environmental Health Activities. Provide general office clerical work requiring some independent judgment. Monitor the consolation, processing, and representation of functional information.
Finance Interns
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in: Financial Accounting / Accounting / Supply Chain / Public Finance Management.
Duties: Perform general administrative functions. Ensure that procurement is allocated to the correct account number in line with the Standard Chart of Accounts by checking the allocation of all submissions. Perform specific activities associated with providing support to the Sub-Unit. Ensure proper filing, safekeeping and archiving of records.
Administration Interns
Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in: Business Administration / Public Administration / Administration
Duties: Control the administration / reception function for OHASA. Administration and logistics. Communication. General office administration
Arts, Culture and Heritage Interns
Requirements: National Diploma or Degree in: Business Management / Public Administration / Development studies / History / Anthropology / Heritage / Social Science
Duties: Provide input into the broader Arts and Culture objectives. Facilitate programmes by the City to Arts and Culture related CBPs/NGO’s/SMME’s and companies. Manage, design and implement the Arts and Culture programmes, including flagship City programmes, such as the annual Carnival, Arts Alive Festival Africa Month, Youth Month and Annual Choral Festival etc. Provide marketing and multimedia support to arts, culture and heritage programmes. Manage the financial administration of all programmes. Manage and attend to the administrative recording, reporting and record-keeping requirements procedures;
