City of Cape Town: Bursaries Programme in South Africa
The City of Cape Town is offering bursaries for full-time studies, at approved tertiary institutions, to people living in the greater Cape Metropolitan area. Students who will be registering for an undergraduate degree, postgraduate degree or a diploma in 2017 are welcome to apply for assistance. Each bursary value will be determined by the actual fees – registration, tuition and examination fees, and the cost of books to the value of R4 000.
Students have a choice of over 40 fields of study in areas where the City has identified critical and scarce skills shortages. Our external bursary programme is part of our commitment to building an opportunity city by encouraging further studies and supporting skills development. Successful applicants will not be required to repay the bursary, but a service obligation to the City is coupled to it. Candidates who will be registering for an undergraduate/postgraduate (PG) degree/diploma in one of the approved fields of study in 2017 are encouraged to apply.
Bursary Application closing date is 31 August 2016
