Cenfri: Bursaries 2021

Cenfri invites applicants to apply for Bursary Programme 2021.

Bursary Application Closing date is 13 October 2020

In our quest to develop African researchers for African development, we’re seeking intellectually curious postgraduate students who have a passion for real-world development.

Our bursary programme offers you:

  • Full financial support for your studies (tuition, book and laptop allowance, a generous stipend for accommodation, food and transport)
  • A dedicated mentor to guide you through the academic year
  • The opportunity to gain work experience while studying, through at least six weeks of paid internship time onsite at Cenfri’s offices in Durbanville and through remote work
  • Good prospects to join our team of research analysts full-time after graduation and on successful completion of the programme

Requirements

  • Being on track to enter a one-year, or your final year of a Masters-level qualification in economics or related fields
  • A strong interest in research-related activities and a passion for development
  • A GPA of 60% or higher, across all subjects, in the current or most recent academic year of enrolment at a higher education institution
  • Good writing and presentation skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Advanced English language skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Good quantitative and analytical skills
  • Knowledge of Stata and the analysis of household survey data (advantageous)
  • Additional African languages (advantageous)
