Cape Winelands Municipality: Internships 2018 in Stellenbosch

The Cape Winelands District Municipality is offering x1 Spatial Planning & Environment and x1 Agri-Park Graduates / Internships Programme for 2017 / 2018 in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The interns will receive a stipend of R60 000 00 per annum during their placement. This programme is aimed at enhancing youth employability and improving service delivery.

1. Spatial Planning & Environment Graduate / Internship 12 month period ( x1 Intern)

Centre & Reference: Stellenbosch (2022)

Requirements
  • B degree in Geography and Environmental Studies
  • Academic records with results sheet must accompany the application
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sound interpersonal relations
Job Profile:
  • Research and administrative tasks required in terms of the Cape Winelands Spatial Development Framework (CW SDF) internal review process
  • Annual Review of the Draft Framework for a Cape Winelands Climate Change Response Strategy
  • Assistance with the ICLEI Africa Local Governments for Sustainability programme; administration, coordination and research
  • Administrative tasks required in terms of programmes; Cape Winelands Biosphere Reserve, the Cape Winelands Invasive Alien Vegetation Management and River Rehabilitation programmes

2. Agri-Park Graduate / Internship 24 month period ( x1 Intern)

Requirements:
  • B-degree in Agriculture Production and Management / Agricultural Economics and Risk Management / Agribusiness Management / Economics / Development Studies / Public Administration or equivalent qualification
  • A Postgraduate qualification in Agriculture Production and Management / Agricultural Economics and Risk Management / Agribusiness Management / Economics / Development Studies / Public Administration will strengthen an application
  • Computer literacy
  • Excellent research skills and the ability to interpret social and economic statistics, as well as theoretical knowledge of project management will be an advantage
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Sound interpersonal relations
  • Effective facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to function independently without constant supervision
  • Valid Code B drivers licence

Job Purpose:

  • Assisting the Deputy Director: Local Economic Development with performing various tasks regarding initiation, implementing and management of the Agri-Park project in the Cape Winelands District Municipality
