The University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) Health Economics and HIV and AIDS Division (HEARD)<\/strong> PhD Scholarship Programme<\/strong> towards further studies in 2021 \/ 2022 for African students.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

As part of HEARD\u2019s commitment to investing in the development of African scholars, we are offering PhD Scholarships for 2021. The scholarship is aimed producing expertly qualified graduates to advise or to be part of influential policy-making or programme implementing entities in Africa, and to pursue additional research priorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FEES & FUNDING<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The value of each scholarship is R540, 000 and will be paid in equal tranches over three years and payments will be conditional on research progress. Successful candidates are required to be based in Durban, South Africa, for the duration of the scholarship, with the
exception of the time during which they may undertake field research elsewhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHO SHOULD APPLY?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applications are invited from citizens of\u00a0all African countries. Female candidates\u00a0and, in the case of South Africa, those\u00a0from previously disadvantaged\u00a0backgrounds, are especially encouraged\u00a0to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
