Columbus Stainless are inviting students pursuing their studies within the Engineering sector, to apply for their 2021 bursary programme.

Fields of Study

Bursaries will be awarded to students currently pursuing their studies towards any of the following qualifications:

  • Process Instrumentation (National Diploma)
  • Mechanical Engineering (National Diploma)
  • Physical Metallurgy (BEng or BSc)
  • Chemical Engineering (BEng or BSc)
  • Electrical Engineering (BEng or BSc)
  • Mechanical Engineering (BEng or BSc)
  • Material Science (BEng or BSc)
  • Chemistry (BEng or BSc)

Students will receive financial assistance to help cover the cost of their studies, as well as the opportunity to increase their knowledge via the in-house training program after graduation.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):

  • Must be a South African citizen
  • Must have completed Matric
  • Must be studying towards one of the aforementioned qualifications
  • Process Instrumentation (National Diploma) students: must be starting 2nd year of study in 2021
  • Mechanical Engineering (National Diploma) students: must be starting 2nd year of study in 2021
  • Physical Metallurgy (BEng or BSc) students: must be 2nd or 4th year of study in 2021
  • Chemical Engineering (BEng or BSc) students: must be 2nd or 4th year of study in 2021
  • Electrical Engineering (BEng or BSc) students: must be 2nd or 4th year of study in 2021
  • Mechanical Engineering (BEng or BSc) students: must be 2nd or 4th year of study in 2021
  • Material Science (BEng or BSc) students: must be 2nd or 4th year of study in 2021
  • Chemistry (BEng or BSc) students: must be 2nd or 4th year of study in 2021
  • BEng or BSc students: must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60% for the previous year of study
  • Must be studying at a recognised tertiary institution within South Africa

Application Process

Submit clear copies of the following supporting documentation along with your application (the submission of these documents is compulsory – if any items are missing, your application be disregarded):

  • ID document (certified copy)
  • Matric certificate (certified copy)
  • Full tertiary academic record (on institutes letterhead)
  • Proof of tertiary registration for 2021 (on institutes letterhead)

Shortlisted candidates will be contacted – if you do not receive any feedback within 2 weeks of the bursary closing date, please regard your application as unsuccessful.
